The "Flying Flea" was a relief train, running during the 1960/70's. The 2010 recreation consisted of the following vehicles: Carriages 8*10*2*5*3*4*1*Van 7*Van6. Seen running through the level crossing at Penrhyndeudraeth. This was the last weekend in service for Prince, before a major overhaul which will include fitting a new boiler (purchase of which still needs funding). It is hoped that Prince will be back in service by 2013, to celebrate his 150th Birthday.

Prince is the oldest working engine on the FR. In fact he is the oldest engine in regular service in the world! He is one of the first four locos built for the FR, in 1863. Originally he had side tanks but was rebuilt to his current shape in 1892, with a large saddle tank. These locos were designed to haul 50 tons of empty slate wagons uphill at 10 mph, he has now proved capable of much more than that.
