Mudflats south of Pylewell Shore, New Forest
When the tide is out several hundred metres of mudflats separate the Solent from the shore. This view is west from Plummers Water - the small river cuts through the mud and it is possible to walk along its gravelly bed for about 200 metres before it becomes too muddy for bare feet. Most of the mudflats along this part of the Solent shore are part of various nature reserves.
