Gravity Train on Gwyndy Bank, Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd
During the Ffestiniog Railway's "Quirks and Curiosities" weekend, the gravity slate train was run each morning. It is seen, here, coasting down the gradient on Gwyndy Bank. On the leading wagon, the horn man blows to announce that the train is coming. The train can only be braked by hand; there appear to be eight brake wagons on the train.
