SH4758 : Dinas Station
near to Dinas, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Dinas Station
Dinas was first opened in 1877 as the junction between the standard gauge Caernarfon - Afon Wen line and the narrow gauge Welsh Highland route to Porthmadog. The Welsh Highland closed in the 1930s, Dinas Station in 1951, and the line through it in 1964. Trains returned in 1997 and the station is now an intermediate stop on the revitalised Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Hafod-y-Llyn (in due course to be extended to Porthmadog). The railway's offices and works are located here.
