SH6335 : Rocky southwestern face of y Gyrn

taken 12 years ago, near to Cilfor, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Rocky southwestern face of y Gyrn
Rocky southwestern face of y Gyrn
The old and now disused track from Caerwych to Bryn Cader Faner passes under these impressive rock slabs on the side of y Gyrn. The northwestern half of this square is enclosed, the rest open grassland, all of which is used for low-density grazing only. The higher ground is interspersed with rocky outcrops and boulders typical for the northern Rhinogydd.
