SP2724 : All Saints church
taken 14 years ago, near to Churchill, Oxfordshire, England
All Saints church.
The chancel (now the Churchill Heritage Centre) is all that remains of the church of All Saints built in 1348 on the site of a Saxon church. It was originally at the centre of the village, but after a fire in 1684, the village was rebuilt up the hill. A new church was built and consecrated in 1827. The chancel of the old church was retained and used as a mortuary chapel.
