Field dyke associated with old farmstead
Field dyke associated with old farmstead
The main description, NS4582 : The remains of a farmstead, shows another part of the same dyke, running due south from the former location of the buildings of the farmstead. As noted there, it then turns WSW to head towards the wooded slopes of the valley of the Gallangad Burn; the present photograph is a view along the WSW-headed part of the dyke, with part of the corner where it turns from its southward course visible in the foreground.
Remains of a farmstead
The site is shown, but not named, on Roy's Military Survey of Scotland (1740s-50s); the farmstead may already have been derelict by that time.
