Colborne
Colborne
This post indicates where the path up the Colborne ridge to Brown Knoll departs from the Chapel Gate bridleway. This flat ridge is on the watershed of Great Britain - to the left streams flow ultimately into the Mersey, to the right the Humber. The dark square on the horizon to the left is an airshaft for Colborne Tunnel (see SK0883 : Airshaft, Cowburn Tunnel).
