Colonel George Greenwood's unusual gravestone, Hinton Ampner
In the northern part of All Saints' churchyard, Hinton Ampner, is this unusual gravestone marking the spot where Colonel George Greenwood (1799-1875) was buried. It seems that he had a fondness for sarsen stones - he was, according to local legend, the creator of the sarsen tetralithon circle in SU6227.
