SK1182 : Giant's Hole
near to Barber Booth, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Giant's Hole
From "Caves and Karst of the Peak District" (BCRA Cave Studies Series No. 3): "the most extensive of the Perryfoot swallet caves with over 4000m of passage. The first 300m is easy walking in the streamway and impressive stalactite-decorated avens can be seen above." I entered the cave for 50m or so before my head torch started fading and I retreated to daylight. A "trespass fee" of £2 is payable at a booth near Peakshill Farm to visit the cave, which lies on private land. See Link
for more information.
