Gruinard River and Allt Loch Ghiubhsachain

Taken from Carn Goraig, this provides an alternative view of the bridge and rivers shown in NG9985 : Bridge over the Allt Loch Ghiubhsachain and NG9985 : Concrete bridge.

The foreground is clearly boggy ground and this must normally be negotiated when walking to the bottom of Carn Goraig when attempting any of the superb rock climbing ( NG9986 : Climber on Carn Goraig ) to be found here. The typical approach to this position will be along the estate track before fording the river and then negotiating the bog. In early May the area is delightfully midge-free but I suspect it is rather less pleasant from June onwards.
