Home to something
Home to something
The edge of the maize field LinkExternal link forms a low "cliff" (maximum height 1 metre) with the beach LinkExternal link , in some places it is chalk and flint, in others, as here, fly ash/topsoil with layers of brick and other debris. This area was peppered with small holes, homes to solitary bees, I think, and then there was this group of larger holes and in particular the one with the "nest" of grass at the entrance. Home to what, a bird, a rat, something else?
