The bridge itself is completely overgrown at this time of year. Many villages in these parts have areas named the 'carrs' which traditionally meant poorly drained areas of farmland unsuitable for crops, which could only be used as pasture when the water level was low. Needless to say it has nothing to do with motor vehicles.
