Mount Pleasant, Rastrick
Seen using telephoto from Low Common next to Badger Hill Cricket Ground. Although they appear all alone in the fields, these houses were near to the former mill at Spout Hill. They were shown on the 1824 township map. It is possible that they were built by a building club. These were formed in the late 18C by groups of people who invested money and their own labour to buy a plot of land and build houses on it. As houses were completed they were allocated to members by drawing lots.
