River Waveney at Beccles
River Waveney at Beccles
Looking upstream, towards Beccles Church. 50 years ago this view would have been very different, where the boat is a railway bridge crossed the Waveney. The Waveney valley railway ran from Beccles to Tivetshall and closed in the 1960s. Evidence in this picture includes the red brick wall with a balcony on it, this is a former buttress for the bridge TM4290 : The River Waveney at Beccles and strange house. On the other side is one exactly the same. TM4290 : LNER 1938, Waveney Valley railway bridge
