Wreckage of De Haviland, Venom
This plane crashed on 4th March 1957. Sadly the pilot Flight Lieutenant W.F. Marshall died in the crash. The aircraft had taken off from RAF Silloth. Wing NO WR557.
We first came across the remains of this aircraft in January 1984 when there was snow on the ground and we didn't see all the wreckage.
In 1984 we missed this pile of wreckage.
There is a recently published book about Plane Crashes in Northumberland.
