Belgrade Theatre
The Corporation Street frontage of Coventry's civic theatre, opened in 1958. The sculpted panel at first floor level is a representation of the old city of Belgrade after which the theatre was named in recognition of the gift of timber for post-war rebuilding from the then Yugoslavia. The panel incorporates a pennant inscribed 'Београд' and the (small) coat of arms of Belgrade.
The Belgrade has recently undergone refurbishment and a new performance space has been added.
