This is one of the few parishes where all those who went to war in both WWI and WWII returned alive. Known as 'Thankful Parishes' this is the only one in Suffolk. The South Elmham group of churches were part of the South Elmham Minster, the remains of which are at South Elmham Hall and are open to the public. Other churches in the parish of South Elmham are: All Saints, LinkExternal link St, Cross St. George, LinkExternal link St. James, LinkExternal link St Margaret, LinkExternal link St Peter LinkExternal link and Homersfield St Mary which was once known as South Elmham St Mary.
