Site of former Route 4 tram terminus, Leeds
In any year between 1934 and 1949, the driver of the car in the foreground would have been confronted with a stationary double-deck tram in the middle of the road. This was Hawksworth Road tram terminus. The route from Leeds to Guiseley was cut back to this point in 1934, but then further cut back to Kirkstall Abbey in 1949, at which time the trams disappeared from this road.
