Mating damselflies, Ober Water, New Forest
Just upstream of the footbridge across Ober Water, the surface was populated with mating damselflies. I know very little about identifying species of damselfly - and apparently it is made very difficult by the fact that the males of most species are blue (although now I'm told that these are white-legged damselflies). Here the female is laying her eggs on vegetation in the stream.
