TA0223 : Ings Yard tile works, kiln and chimney

Ings Yard tile works, kiln and chimney
Ings Yard tile works, kiln and chimney
The kiln in the foreground is particularly interesting as it has been caught partway through reconstruction, which was clearly abandoned some time ago. The old roof has been removed and timber centring erected on which a new vault of fire resistant material would have been cast (see LinkExternal link for an interior view of a complete kiln). Beyond is the chimney which would have served this and the still complete kiln which lies further right.
