Jetty and bridge
Jetty and bridge
The ruined timbers are the remains of the jetty serving the former Barton cement Works. From here cement would have been shipped out on keels and sloops, much of the trade passing up the waterways to the industrial towns of South and West Yorkshire. The Humber Bridge forms an ever-present background.
