The Church of St Botolph, Skidbrooke
The Church of St Botolph, Skidbrooke
With no windows and furnishings, this church has been left to the bats and birds.
An Early English south doorway leads into an enormously wide nave with its impressive 19th-century roof. The chancel arch is dated about 1200 and there are early 13th-century arcades on either side. The arches of the south arcade stand on waist-high octagonal columns. The church of St Botolph became redundant on 16-Nov-1973 and into the care of the Redundant Churches Fund on 22-Nov-1975.
