A mysterious stone
A mysterious stone
This stone lies on the top of Cally Motte. Does it date from the time of the Anglo/Norman Bailey? It is certainly deeply embedded into the ground. The circular top of the motte is 80 feet in diameter and 12 - 16 feet above the ground. There is a low bank around the top of the motte which can just about be seen.
