Door, Keswick Police Station
Door, Keswick Police Station
Public entrance to NY2623 : Keswick Police Station , which was built in 1902. Two Constabulary emblems are displayed here. The old one above the door presumably belonged to the Cumberland and Westmorland Constabulary, which was formed in 1856. Local forces in Kendal and Carlisle were merged with this in the mid 20th century. In 1967 the name of the combined force was changed to the current one, Cumbria Constabulary, whose emblem is seen left of the door.
