Where the Fairey Firefly's fuselage burned out, Beinn Uraraidh, Islay
The Fairey Firefly hit Beinn Uraraidh on 25th September 1951, killing both Australian crew who had been on a training exercise. The wreckage is strewn over the eastern slopes of the mountain, extending for about a third of a mile.
