A view of the station looking towards Thetford and Brandon. The station is situated in the village of Eccles, a new build village, the old one a mile to the south of the station. The station was part of the Norwich to Brandon railway which was built by Grissell and Peto . Opening in July 1845 it is still an important freight and passenger route from Cambridgeshire to Norfolk.
