The Interior of the Church of St Botolph, Skidbrooke
The Interior of the Church of St Botolph, Skidbrooke
Showing the clerestory windows and north and south aisles with their differing columns, and also the tiny chancel. The image has been enhanced to show the interior of the roof more clearly.
To the left of the chancel arch is what appears to be a blocked up window. To the right of the chancel arch is something else, which Pevsner can't make out. The tall recess has a protruding stepped base, much like the bottom of a buttress. The recess extends upwards, all the same width as the column, as if it was a supporting buttress that was then taken out after the building of the church, when it had served it purpose.

A remarkable photograph of the church taken from the air, by Chris - LinkExternal link
