St Mary's Church - Corscombe
St Mary's Church - Corscombe
Although mainly perpendicular, the church was rebuilt in the 1870's by a Crewkerne man, James Mountford Allen (1809-1883), who studied architecture in Exeter under Mr Cornish, and Mr Fowler in London. He spent most of his working life restoring churches, rectories and some gentlemen's residences. His father, a vicar, had been master at Crewkerne Grammar School.
