TQ9329 : Bridleway beside the Reading Sewer

taken 7 years ago, near to Stone in Oxney, Kent, Great Britain

Bridleway beside the Reading Sewer
Bridleway beside the Reading Sewer
This bridleway heads along the large dyke before veering off around Chapel Bank to rejoin the Sewer heading towards Chapel Bank Farm near Reading Street. Chapel Bank (on the left) was formerly known as Ebony (Ebon's Ey or Ebon's Island) and once, as the name suggests, an island in the Rother tidal estuary that ran around the northern side of Oxney.
