Footpath junction on Chapel Bank
Footpath junction on Chapel Bank
A footpath from Luckhurst Farm leads over a hillock., called Chapel Bank. Which was formerly known as Ebony (Ebon's Ey or Ebon's Island) and once, as the name suggests, an island in the Rother tidal estuary that ran around the northern side of Oxney. The footpath then divides here. A path leads straight on over a stile and towards Chapel Bank Farm (in the background) heading towards Acton Lane. Another path heads right along the fence line towards a bridleway heading to the farm.
