taken 76 years ago, near to Aston Fields, Worcestershire, England

Bromsgrove Station, with Down express passing
Bromsgrove Station, with Down express passing
View NE, towards Birmingham; ex-Midland Derby etc. - Birmingham - Gloucester - Bristol trunk main line. The famous Lickey Incline (two miles at 1-in-37) starts immediately beyond the station and its commencement can just be discerned at the back of the express: this is a Bradford - Bristol - West of England train, headed by a celebrated 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0 - still with a four-digit number as this was only six months into Nationalisation. (Also, I was still an immature photographer).
