Pipeline Marker on Hill of Allochie
The red-and-white post warns anyone who might be considering excavating here that there is a gas pipeline, and asking them to telephone before digging. There is nothing to indicate the purpose of the cairn.
Although the specifics of this cairn are unknown, it is worth noting that Get-a-Map etc have the whole area around this cairn labelled 'Cairnfield'. It therefore was obviously a place of some significance in ancient times.
