NO6481 : Bog Cotton (Eriophorium angustifolium)

taken 8 years ago, 3 km from Clatterin' Brig, Aberdeenshire, Great Britain

Bog Cotton (Eriophorium angustifolium)
Bog Cotton (Eriophorium angustifolium)
This large dense patch of Bog Cotton or Cotton-grass stood out almost a mile before I reached it, though I waited in vain for the sun to come out and illuminate it properly. It was also fairly breezy, so the flower heads were in constant motion, some appearing out of focus as a result.
