taken 8 years ago, near to Canterbury, Kent, Great Britain

Waterwheel pit, Abbot's Mill
Waterwheel pit, Abbot's Mill
Only the iron axle shaft remains of the undershot waterwheel that once powered this mill on the Great Stour in Canterbury. The weir at the rear of the pit is carefully shaped and allows a very smooth flow of water over it.
