NT6599 : Guillemot (Uria aalge)

taken 8 years ago, near to Tarbet Hole [water Feature], Fife, Great Britain

Guillemot (Uria aalge)
Guillemot (Uria aalge)
Guillemots nest on bare rock ledges. Their eggs are almost conical in shape, so that if they roll they just roll round in a circle and don't fall off the cliff edge. This bird, apparently not breeding, looked almost surprised to be photographed.
