NT6598 : Puffins (Fratercula arctica)

taken 8 years ago, near to Maiden Hair [other Features], Fife, Great Britain

Puffins (Fratercula arctica)
Puffins (Fratercula arctica)
The bird on the right has a beakful of small fish or sandeels, ready to feed its chick which will be safely inside a nest burrow in the earth of the cliff top. I was surprised at how long both birds stayed put here, allowing me plenty of time to photograph them with the telephoto lens.
