Old Man of Stoer
This 67m Torridon sandstone sea stack was first climbed in June 1966 by Tom Patey, Brian Robertson, Brian Henderson and Paul Nunn. Patey crossed the wave-swept platform at its base by bridging the gap with a pair of 15-foot ladders. The ascent is related in his inimitable style by Patey in the Scottish Mountaineering Club Journal, vol. 28 p261-267 (May 1967).
