Female Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), Lerwick
Female Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), Lerwick
A rather worn female, which has lost most of its feathers above the beak, looking to improve the nest before starting on a second brood, as first broods have already fledged. Female Starlings have a pink base to the bill and a pale ring in the eye.
