Chimney stacks on the station building
Chimney stacks on the station building
Showing above the bridge parapet are the chimneys of the long-closed Edmondthorpe & Wymondham station, on the Saxby to Bourne line which once carried East Midlands holidaymakers to the Norfolk coast and Rutland and South Lincolnshire iron ore west and north to the steelworks. Now a private house, the station building was built about 1890 by Mr C Barnes of Melton Mowbray, who also built the stations at Saxby and South Witham.
