Machine on a turf nursery
Machine on a turf nursery
What is this machine for? One guess is that it is a specialised flail mower. A fan propels the grass mowings into the hopper. No? The smooth finish of the mown grass in SP2166 : Turf nursery by M40 could easily be achieved with a conventional ride-on mower that collects the mowings, as is used on golf courses and cricket outfields. Perhaps it works the other way. Sand and fertilizer in the hopper are injected into the sward under pressure. It doesn't look like a turf slitter or undercutter/lifter. Finally, my best guess is that it's for sowing the seed mixture for the turf crop: it's a seed drill.
