Former railway bridge on the GN&LNWR line
Former railway bridge on the GN&LNWR line
This humpbacked bridge, built of local ironstone, carries the Harby to Waltham road over the abandoned GN&LNWJt Railway - closed in the 1960s - which once carried passengers from Nottingham to Northampton, Derbyshire coal to London and Leicestershire iron ore to the blast furnaces at Stanton and Staveley.
