Nature reserve, Westmill Wind Farm, Watchfield
Westmill Farm is now best known for its wind farm. However, it is still an arable farm growing wheat at this location. The current crop can be seen in the background at the left. However, the area of land immediately west of the first turbine has been set aside as a nature reserve by planting a mix of cereals such as oats and wheat, and wild flowers including poppies and cornflowers. In this way habitats and food supplies have been provided for birds, insects and small mammals. The hedge at the right marks the line of a bridleway to Coleshill.
