Cathedral Quarry, Little Langdale
The large pillar was left by the quarrymen to hold up the roof. Several large chunks have fallen from the sides and roof over the years and the National Trust installed a chain (visible bolted to the pillar) to keep people away from unstable areas. No goldfish were seen in the pool today - have they survived the harsh winter of 2009-10?
