View of Stratford transport interchange from the new DLR platforms
The DLR used to be at the same level as the platforms you see here, but throughout the last 5 years new, elevated platforms have been constructed at Stratford. They are a great vantage point for views of the now huge transport interchange, as well as general views of the newly designed Stratford town centre itself. In the foreground, behind the white railings, is the westbound (London-bound) Central line as it plunges into the tunnel to Mile End station. Next are the Great Eastern platforms for services from Liverpool Street to Shenfield and vice versa. Finally, adjacent to the concrete wall, we have the new London Overground service (formerly the North London Line) to Gospel Oak. View taken looking northwest.
