TG2308 : Inside Norwich Castle Museum

Inside Norwich Castle Museum
Inside Norwich Castle Museum
A view inside the Keep; the door in front was the original entrance with an impressive Norman Arch.
This is one of the best preserved and largest in England. There would have been two floors at first but over time the keep was gutted and turned into a prison (like Lincoln). The inside walls of the roofless shell covered in cells, not nice.

The Victorians becoming more civilised restored the frontage, re-roofed and turned it into the county museum, and so it stays!
