The ruins of Basingwerk Abbey
Established in the 12th century by the Savignac Order of monks, who later became part of the Cistercian Order, this abbey was ruined during and following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 1530's. Today a pleasant part of the Greenfield Heritage Park complex.
