The sole survivor of three adjacent railway bridges across Cardiff Road, dating from an era of heavy coal train traffic from the mining valleys to Newport Docks. Nowadays, the route across the bridge is used by the Cardiff to Ebbw Vale passenger service. The bridge's Railtrack ID is "Cardiff Road 0m 31c NWN".

The bus is on Newport Bus route 34 Sunday service from the central bus station to Duffryn.
