Centranthus ruber is a lime-loving species which thrives on Pembrokeshire's old walls. Colours may be deep or light pink and sometimes white. Once established it spreads everywhere! Bees and butterflies love it.
It was introduced from the Mediterranean region and bears no relation to the indigenous Valeriana officinalis.
