SO7740 : Making hay while the sun shines

Making hay while the sun shines
Making hay while the sun shines
An early evening shot as the final area of hay is baled.
Behind the baler a wonderful machine collects eight bales into blocks that can be lifted by a tractor onto a lorry for transportation.
This year the traditional small rectangular bales are being made.
These can be man-handled and can fit inside the back of an estate car.
In other years large rectangular bales 6-8 times the volume or round bales of similar size have been made.
Looking towards Mayall's Coppice with the wooded hillside of Black Hill in the distance. Taken on the summer solstice.
